This was the first sale of miniatures at Reading & it included a section of British Spotted Ponies. It was from this section that the highest prices were reached. Anita Chaneys other entry ASIL’S TIA MARIA a chocolate brown filly also by Asils Calisto out of Birchwood Pepsi by the palomino stallion Kerswell Suntan fetched 650gns. All these three fillies were impeccably turned out & a credit to their breeders. Nick Valentine entered two tiny, beautifully marked colts by Kilcummer Gremlins Apache –SPOTLIGHTS ROYAL WINDSOR & SPOTLIGHTS BANK HOLIDAY both had been successfully shown & both made 1000gns each. Another top bid was for BWLCHCLAWDD MEDI a liver spotted filly by Hermits Sahib ex Waterpitts Eudipe who made 950gns, she was entered by breeder Mr J Thomas. TOYHORSE DANDE FLYER a 35” near leopard stallion made 750gns.

This stallion is a multi champion & had also been driven.
Of the 64 entries, 8 were not forward & 28 appeared to leave the ring unsold. Some horses sold for as little as 50gns & others made little more. It appeared that quality & nice markings were what the buyers were looking for. There were horses forward that were registered with IMHPS, BMHS, AMHA & the Nederlands mini paarden stamboek as well as BSpPS.
